Mutual understanding, trust, respect helps build a safe and healthy relationship. Indian therapist Sadaf Siddiqui has told some things necessary to create a beautiful and safe relationship in a report in Hindustan Times.
Vulnerability: The more vulnerable one is to a partner, the more emotionally close one becomes. Often due to childhood trauma and past traumatic experiences, many people are afraid to show vulnerability to someone. In a secure relationship, the partner’s fears, likes, dislikes or emotions must be valued.
Boundaries: Relationships should have certain boundaries for both. Space should be given to music. This will help to understand each other and set limits.
Personality: The personality of the partner should also be considered in the relationship. These include passions, ambitions, opinions, attitudes and hobbies. Building a healthy relationship requires knowing how to respect the other person.
Communication: Reciprocal communication helps create more clarity in relationships. This helps in understanding each other’s needs, wants and expectations.
Respect: Knowing how to respect others, speaking well and being aware of them improves relationships. Mutual respect can contribute to a healthy and happy relationship.
