Sleep is very important for the body. Some sleep during the day. This practice is more common during summer. Many people take a break and go to sleep when they get some time during the day. Many people have different opinions about whether daytime napping is good or bad.
A team of researchers from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the United States recently conducted a study among 3,275 adults in Murcia, Spain. They tried to find the relationship with obesity and metabolic syndrome.
Studies have shown that there is a significant difference between night sleep and daytime sleep. Daytime sleeping habits affect the body’s metabolic function. Sleeping too much is harmful to health – that’s what the researchers think. Studies have also shown that people who sleep more than 30 minutes a day have a higher risk of obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes than those who do not sleep during the day. There are also issues such as when to eat and whether or not to smoke.
Research has also shown that people who sleep for short periods of time, i.e. take power naps, also undergo several changes in their bodies. Just as no sleep at all is bad, so too much daytime sleep is bad. It also increases the risk of high blood pressure.
Research has clearly shown that the length of daytime sleep is very important. Power naps are not bad, essential for maintaining performance and good health. But if you take a long nap after lunch, then it is not good for the body at all.
