In 2015, a man named David Hall went in search of gold near the city of Melbourne, Australia. At one stage of searching for gold, he came across a ‘stone block’. Whose mass was abnormally high David is suspicious of its weight and assumes there is something inside. A few years later, it was discovered that the stone was not an Earth object, but a meteorite. And its price is more than gold, to say ‘priceless’.
According to the news of the Sydney Morning Herald, David Hall had to work hard to know that the stone is a meteorite. He uses saws, drill machines, and even acid to find out what’s inside He also beat it with a hammer to break it. Nothing happened at all. Melbourne Museum Geologist Dermot Henry finally succeeded. He used a diamond-tipped saw to cut the stone.
The stone was then tested. It is known that it is a meteorite 4.6 billion years old. At that time our solar system was forming. Due to the meteorite’s excessive weight, it is made of nickel and iron. And the concentration of these two substances was very high in them.
Regarding the meteorite, geologist Dermot Henry said in 2019 that the meteorite was in a molten state before entering the Earth’s atmosphere. After entering the atmosphere, it condenses and takes on its current form of super-density. In his words, ‘through the stone, we can go back to the time of the formation of the solar system.’
