When it rains, the water in the pond does not actually heat up. But it feels hot.
The water in the pond remains as it was before. But the rain water is somewhat cold and due to rain the environment is also cold. And as a result, pond water feels hotter than the environment and rainwater.
Again, the relative heat capacity of water is higher. This means that water takes a long time to cool or heat. So the pond water cannot cool down quickly. That’s why the pond water feels hot.
