Elements having same mass number but different atomic number and neutron number are called isobars.
For example-
Atomic number of copper – 29. The number of neutrons is 36. Then mass number = 29+36 = 65.
The atomic number of zinc is 30. The number of neutrons is 35. Then mass number = 30+35 = 65.
Here their mass numbers are equal.
The last word of isobar is “bar” which means “mass” to remember – mass is equal to number.
