In the case of money transactions, we do transactions up to a minimum of one rupee. Transaction less than this is not possible. So if you are asked to pay Rs 12.35, you cannot pay it. Because this number is not a multiple of minimum 1. Of course you have to give any number that is a multiple of 1. It can be 12 or 13 taka.
Similarly, all the types of positive and negative charges we think of are caused by a deficiency or an excess of electrons. That is, from this point of view, the role of an electron is played by the charge of an electron. So if you are given a charge that is not a multiple of the electron’s charge, you cannot give it. Because it is not possible to break the electron or inject a fraction less than that. So we say – any charge will be multiple of electron charge. Or it can be said like this – any amount of charge divided by the charge of electrons must be a whole number. That is, Q/e = n. This is what we call infusion quantization.
