Meso compounds:
Again, if due to the similarities between the two parts of a compound, if a part behaves like a superimposable image of the other, then the rotation of plane polarized light by one part is neutralized by the other. As a result, this type of compounds are optically inert and the angle of polarization will be 0ยบ. These are called meso compounds. Meso compounds are not optically active, so meso has no optical isomeric property and also meso compounds do not have mirror image.
