Space exploration requires very large units of distance. Because one planet is billions of kilometers away from another planet. Since the distance to a planet or star can be measured by looking at the light coming from it, a larger unit of distance is used that includes the transit time of the light. Which is known as Alok Barsha. The distance light travels in one year is called one light year. Since the speed of light remains the same in all cases, no limitation is currently observed in this unit. As distance traveled 1 light year = 587000000000 miles = 94600000000 kilometers.
