As a liquid or gaseous substances can flow, they are called flowing substances. When an object passes through a flowing i.e. liquid or gaseous substance, the frictional force applied by the object with the liquid or gaseous substance is called fluid friction. As we are immersed in the ocean of air on Earth, our flow friction with the air is active.
