When an uncharged or uncharged object is brought in contact with or near a charged object, the uncharged object becomes charged. Just like when an iron is brought near a magnet, the iron also behaves like a magnet. This method of inducing an inert object by bringing it near to an inert object without touching it is called electromagnetic induction.
Generally, friction occurs between two objects. Again, if the infected object is brought in contact with the uninfected object, the uninfected object is infected. Because in this case, some charge from the charged object goes to the uncharged object. But in this process, the uninjured object is not brought into contact with the infested object but only when it is brought close to it.
