There are two conditions for total internal reflection, namely-
(i) Light rays must incident on the diffractive surface in an oblique direction from a denser transparent medium to a lighter transparent medium.
(ii) Angle of incidence will be greater than angle of crisis. If these two conditions are fulfilled then total internal reflection will occur.
