An important component of our fourth industrial revolution is the creation of skilled manpower. A Startup zone, idea/innovation zone, industry-academic zone, brainstorming zone, e-library, Bangabandhu corner, exhibition/demonstration center, video conferencing room, etc. have been placed in this incubator to create skilled manpower. In addition to encouraging the young society of the country in the information technology sector, they will play an important role in making themselves experienced by combining academic knowledge with real life in this sector.
It is said that data science will lead the world in the next decade. The more advanced the workforce is in data collection and processing, the more advanced they are in leadership. In this regard, so that the youth of our country does not lag, the data center, and research lab has been kept in this incubator. Which will advance the data science of our country in the fourth industrial revolution.
CUET IT Business Incubator Project
This business incubator was set up in CUET to create successful entrepreneurs in the country’s information technology sector, encourage research and innovation activities and strengthen industry-academic collaboration, as well as expand Bangladesh’s opportunities globally in the information technology sector. The project was implemented at a cost of around 117.7 million takas under the supervision of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority under the Department of Information and Communication Technology.
It is to be noted that this incubator is expected to play a role in the construction of ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041 by producing skilled graduates in the information technology sector to meet the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.
Which is in the IT Business Incubator
Under the Sheikh Kamal IT Business Incubator Project, this incubation building with a 50 thousand square feet area and 10 floors has been constructed on about five acres of land inside CUET Campus. Besides, a multipurpose training building with six floors of 36 thousand square feet has been constructed. Incubation buildings include – Startup Zone, Idea/Innovation Zone, Industry-Academic Zone, Brainstorming Zone, e-Library, Data Centre, Research Lab, Bangabandhu Corner, Exhibition/Demonstration Centre, Video Conferencing Room, Meeting Rooms, etc.
An artificial intelligence (AI) lab, a machine learning lab, a big data lab, an optical fiber backbone, a sub-station, and solar panels have been placed to facilitate the work of entrepreneurs and researchers. Besides, there are separate corners for banks and IT firms, cyber cafes, food courts, cafeterias, recreation zone, maker spaces, display zone, press/media coverage zone, own parking facilities, etc.
On the other hand, the multipurpose training building has a well-equipped auditorium with a capacity of 250 people and eight separate computer lab cum seminar rooms with a capacity of 30 people. Besides, two separate (female and male) residential dormitory buildings of 20,000 square feet each has been constructed. Each dormitory has 40 rooms. Besides, a state-of-the-art research lab with two mini supercomputers is going to be set up soon.
