Laziness, laziness and laziness – the search for the cause and the journey to liberation:
15 days left for exam, but don’t sit to study, don’t want to sit. Sit just the night before the exam.
Sir has given the assignment, he is getting time for one day, but he chats all day, talks and writes in the evening before going to bed.
A small work, maximum half an hour will be done. But kept week after week!
What? Can you see your reflection? No matter, most people are like that. Don’t procrastinate and don’t do the work on time, on or after the dead line. As a result, Lait Latif became a failure everywhere from professional life to personal life.
This is what we call “garimsi” to keep doing things by saying ‘I will do it later’. A little more scholarly language can be said – long formula. Procrastination is called in English.
It’s normal to be a little sloppy at times. But if it is more and long term then the matter should be taken seriously. A prolonged period of restlessness can have adverse effects on physical and mental health. For example – increased anxiety and depression.
Usually when we talk about the reasons why we procrastinate, several things come up. For example –
1. Not knowing what to do, how to do it correctly and in detail.
2. Reluctance or don’t care about the work.
3. Not knowing where to start.
4. Being overconfident. Oh, this is easy, I’ll do it in five minutes – having that attitude.
5. Preferring to work with expansion.
6. Master excuse making. It will be perfect if you do it now rather than later – think these things.
7. By doing this I will do that, I will do it all together – thinking like that.
But if procrastination is excessive, without any physical and mental stimulation to work, then you may have other problems and procrastination is a symptom of those problems or diseases.
Some of the physical and mental issues related to the squeamish nature are-
1. Depression: If you are depressed for a long time, your memory, attention, thinking, and all other intellectual skills can be disturbed. As a result, doing a simple task will seem very difficult and you will lose interest in working. Fear of work will develop and you will procrastinate unnecessarily.
2. OCD: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder or OCD is a type of mental issue due to which a person does the same thing over and over again, has a meticulous nature, has an obsession with something.
If you have OCD, you may be afraid to do things, lest you make a mistake. The fear of not being perfect can make you shy away.
3. ADHD: It is a neurodegenerative disorder that usually occurs in children or during childhood. However, it is also seen in adults. The main problem of a person suffering from this disease is to maintain concentration. You understand that if you can’t maintain focus, any task will seem boring and you won’t be able to do it for long. Leave it for later.
We have talked a lot about the cause, but now let’s talk about the way to get rid of it. You may also know them but do not follow them. But in order to be released, you have to follow these –
1. To do list: Make a list of things you need to do on a given day, either in the morning or the night before. Then set it in a place where you see it often or save it with a reminder on your phone.
2. Planning: Plan how to do a task, where to start. It won’t take long though. Once the planning is done, the fear of the work will be cured, you will get encouragement.
3. Break the task into small pieces: If a task is too big and difficult, our fear and reluctance towards the task naturally comes into play. In that case we should plan the work first. Then divide the task into smaller parts. Think – a part done means the job just got easier. As children, mothers used to share small pieces in our food plate!
4. Think about the pros and cons of Garimsi: Think about what could be the loss or impact on you if the work is not done on time. Studies have shown that many lazy people can work within the stipulated time!
5. Keep the working place as free of distractions as possible: Before starting a task, find out what things can distract you from the task and lose focus. Stay away from phone, TV, PC, laptop unless necessary.
6. Force yourself: Laziness and laziness will never be good at any tips unless you force yourself. So force yourself first. To beat boredom or laziness, regular exercise will increase blood circulation to all parts of the body including the brain and keep you active.
Even after doing all these things, if you find it difficult to do your work on time, it is difficult to maintain concentration, you have unnecessary fear of work, then seek the help of a doctor.
