Now if there is a broken bridge between Tommy’s and Mummy’s club, can people leave Tommy’s club at 5 pm and reach Mummy’s club by 7 pm? Certainly not Because of that broken bridge they will arrive later. Although 1,000 people had left Tommy’s Club by 5 pm, the streets between the two clubs were still crowded after 7 pm. The behavior of this bridge in an electrical circuit is called an inductor which acts as a bridge in the circuit.
The inductor is basically a stranded wire. When current passes through this twisted wire, a magnetic field is created in it. Which in turn blocks the current flowing through the wire. So if you want to have current in the circuit for some time after the switch is closed, you can add an inductor to the circuit.
