A machine that violates the first law of thermodynamics is known as a perpetual motion machine of the first kind (briefly written as PMM-I).
It is defined as a machine that produces work energy without consuming an equivalent of energy from other sources. Such a machine, is impossible to obtain in actual practice because no machine can produce energy of its own without consuming any other form of energy.
