Radioactivity is the spontaneous emission of radioactive rays from elements like uranium, thorium, polonium, radium, actinium etc. And those elements from which radioactive rays are emitted or show radioactivity are called radioactive elements.
Radioactive elements that emit radioactive rays are alpha rays, beta rays and gamma rays. In honor of Becquerel, the SI unit of measuring radioactivity is the becquerel. Generally, elements with atomic number greater than 84 are radioactive and can emit radioactive rays.
