What is electromagnet and how to make a powerful electromagnet?

Scientist Hans Christian Werstedt discovered that when current flows through a conducting wire, the wire becomes a temporary magnet. Increasing the amount of current flowing makes the magnet stronger. This magnet created by electric current is called an electromagnet. The field of this magnet is called the electromagnetic field.

This electromagnet created in the conductor can be strengthened in several ways-
1. By increasing the amount of current in the conductor.
2. A much stronger electromagnet can be made by using a coil of wire instead of a thin wire.
3. The value of the electromagnet can be strengthened by placing iron in its coil. Because the core of the pig iron forces a large amount of force in a small area.
