Is reincarnation possible?
Is reincarnation or reincarnation possible – I often see such questions. Some start arguing for it by finding some supposedly unimportant research papers, wasting time. So it had to be written. Everyone should avoid religion as much as possible and have a science-based discussion.
First let’s see what is the thing about birth.
There are different concepts of birth. The idea that is widespread in the subcontinent is that the soul is immortal. After a living being dies, his soul leaves this body and takes birth again in a new body according to his karma. If one does good, he will get a good life in his next life, if he does bad, bad. As we throw away old clothes and put on new ones – so it is with the soul. It will continue till salvation.
Leaving aside the idea of the soul for now, let’s see if it is actually possible to reborn a human being, at least theoretically.
There is a man, his name is Jadhu. Now a man exactly like this Jadu was made or born in some process; I named her Madhu. This Jadhu and Madhu will never be the same person. Although they are absolutely copy paste of each other. Why not be one? Because they are really different people. If one gets pain, the other will not get it. If one gets happiness, the other doesn’t.
Again, it is impossible for two people to have exactly the same environment even though they are genetically similar. Environment as well as economic-social-political-geographical-educational conditions have a great impact on people’s behavior-character-philosophy. If Jadhu is a thief in Bangladesh, if Madhu grows up in Japan, he might become a police officer. Again due to Jadhu’s economic condition he may not have studied, but Madhu became a renowned researcher. It can also be the opposite. Madhu may have become a murderer even from a developed country by falling under the clutches of bad people, but not a thief.
To understand this, think of identical twins. Despite having so much genetic similarity between the two, they are two different people, different types of people. Even if you clone someone and give birth to someone exactly like him, he is a different person.
Now think differently. Guess Jadhu died. Death means that his body and mind are completely broken, slowly decomposed and completely merged into the ground. Now someone collected his body material and created the same person again from it (this has to be imagined, not possible in reality). So what happens? No, even then he will no longer be a Jadhu. He will be Jadhur’s copy-paste. Now this copy paste cannot be held responsible for any of Jadhur’s work, nor can it be rewarded. Therefore, even if someone is reborn after death, that person is no longer the same person, but a completely different person. Did it make sense?
Let’s think a little differently. If he is born in Bangladesh and stays here, he will be a very different person from the economic-social-political-geographical-educational reasons of this country. This means that a person is not 100% responsible for his own behavior and actions, the responsibility of the environment is huge. He cares about you. What is the difference between the person you would have been if you had never gone to school, and the person you ‘are’ now? If you were a cowherd or a farmer or a rickshaw driver, you would have been a different person. A lawyer would be one person and a teacher or businessman another person. If you work for 20 thousand rupees, you will be one person and if you work for 1 lakh rupees, you will be another person. If you are born in a hut in a poor family, you will be one person, but if you are born in a billionaire’s house, you will be another person. These same people used to be quite different in thought-consciousness-behaviour-perception. Age is also a factor. One becomes a criminal at a young age, a good person at a little age; The opposite also happens. So if a criminal dies suddenly without getting a chance to reform, it is difficult to understand who can be held responsible. From this discussion it is also understood that no human being has a single existence. Therefore, the rebirth of a person has no specific meaning. Because he is different in each environment, at each age.
Now back to the concept of soul. Same example. Just died. His soul took another body called Madhu. Jadu’s body is located in the honey. So Madhu is the descendant of Jadhu. Madhu will enjoy the karma of Jadu.
Why is this not possible? As we have already seen there is no way that the exact same person can be born again; Even if they have exactly the same physical and genetic characteristics. But two people with different physical and genetic characteristics of two different times are said to be descendants of each other because the said soul has occupied the body of the other after the death of one. From this it can be understood that the soul thing is fake. It does not make any sense to claim that two different people are descendants of each other, if they are different bodies, with an ethereal or invisible soul. Which exists in all people, passing from one body to another body, but no scientific evidence was found.
We sense our existence with the brain, and lose the sense when we are senseless. The brain is the cause of all feelings and emotions, not the so-called soul or anything like that. Those who created the concept of reincarnation did not know about the genetic characteristics of humans or organisms, about brain activity, about human uniqueness.
Where Jadhu-Madhu are two different people, why should one suffer the karma of the other? What is the meaning of these?
As we have seen from the previous discussion, it would be unacceptable to make decisions about a person only by holding him responsible for his actions, the role of the environment should be taken into consideration. How about someone being born as a lowly animal as punishment, he thought. Again, the main reason for punishing on earth is to correct someone, then I am not questioning the real reason for punishing after death. Be that as it may, the discussion will diverge.
Many children claim to have been born somewhere before. Many people have done serious (actually garbage) research on them. Children are very imaginative, think-say-dream a thousand things. If some of the billions of such babies say they were born once before, it is safe to rejoice over it. Besides, from parents, from someone around or from a friend, from watching TV or videos, the thought of birth change may come to his mind.
Let the light of science remove all superstitions, all darkness.
