Buoyancy or upward force
From Archimedes’ formula we know that when an object is immersed in a liquid or gaseous substance, the object seems to lose some weight. Because the upward force of water acts on the sinking object. This upward force of water is called buoyancy.
Mathematical equation of buoyancy
The mathematical equation of buoyancy is,
F = Vdg
F – is buoyancy or upward force.
V – is the volume of submerged object.
d – is the density of the submerged object.
g – Gravitational acceleration.
